The upstairs is looking great and the rooms will feel spacious and new. The four man rooms are large and I believe will be comfortable with 4 guys. The hallways are wider in some areas as described below. The door frames are METAL and will have solid wood doors hung. The hallway walls are made of a highly durable reinforced sheetrock material. It was described that if you successfully broke through the wall with your hand you would need to go to the hospital. But, lets not try that out guys, okay?
I firmly believe everyone will be pleased with the hallways and layout of our new upstairs. This picture was taken in the "new side" hallway at the corner where Ornell and Wales lived. For perspective, as I stood by the fan in this picture I extended my arms at the widest part of this hallway. It is a foot or two wider than my arm span.
This is the second floor landing. Closets and HVAC closets have been removed or reduced in size opening the landings up quite a bit. The seating area has been removed and a new built in cabinet added. It is planned to have shelving in the cabinet pictured, but I do not know if there will be wood doors or if it will be another glass trophy cabinet.
This is another picture of the hallways. This was taken from the doorway of room 8 on the second floor. this is the new hallway behind the stairs. This is looking down the new side and a door to the stairs is on the left.
I know that everyone is going to like this. Every room will have its own thermostat and this Heat and air unit on the wall. This is not your normal "window unit," but it is a real AC and heater. If you know how HVAC units work they require condenser lines to cool the air. The condensers are outside of the house and copper condenser lines ran to every room. Last I had heard this HVAC model had the ability to be controlled with your smartphone through the WiFi in the house. We will see if that is in fact what they installed.
